I find the site tough to read and navigate on my phone - what's this about?
This site is currently optimized for the home computer browser. You can still access your recipes, shopping lists, links, and everything else on the run. We plan on creating a mobile app provided there is enough interest. Invite friends, family, and spread the word!
How do I invite friends to become members?
There is a dedicated page for Finding Friends - you can find it under 'Social'. Simply enter the email addresses of the friends you wish to invite. If they do not receive the email, they might need to check their Spam or Junk folders. Available after signing in
How do I find friends who joined?
Search by username from Find Friends page, visit their page, and add as a friend. You will need to know the username of your friend on mezcla since we don't ask for real names. Available after signing in
Why won't it let me share a recipe with another member?
To share a personal recipe with a friend you need to be MUTUAL friends; meaning that you need to follow that person, and they need to follow YOU too. We have set it up like this to prevent unwanted spamming.
I wish I would receive email notifications, OR, I hate these notifications!
All email notifications can be controled in your Profile page, by scrolling down to the Settings area. You can choose to enable or disable notifications. If you have notifications enabled and you aren't seeing them, be sure to check your Spam and Junk folders and mark as NOT spam or junk. Available after signing in
Can I change my password and/or username?
Yes. This can also be found by scrolling down in your Profile page. Available after signing in
What’s the deal with the Shopping List?
From any recipe, select ingredients to add to your list. You can also add custom items, check things off while shopping, and email a PDF of your list. Available after signing in
I saved a recipe but I want to tweak it - can I do that?
We don't allow users to make edits to someone else's recipe, but we provide a place where you can jot down notes. Open a Friend's Recipe, and scroll down to find "My Cooking Notes". Nobody can see these notes but you.
The little conversion calulator is nice, but units are missing...
Just reach out with a note if certain units are missing from the calculator. We tried to predict the most commonly used units of measurement. Always happy to make improvements.
How do I delete my account?
You can permanently delete your mezcla account from your Profile & Settings page, or use our dedicated account deletion page. Open Delete Account page
